Los Angeles public prosecutors filed a court filing on Wednesday detailing the “horrifying” steps they claim the indie pop musician took to dismember and hide the body of his 14-year-old girlfriend, who he allegedly stabbed to death in April.

According to the document, which outlines the evidence that prosecutors intend to present in the murder case, the singer-songwriter will have placed the victim’s corpse in a blue inflatable pool “to prevent the blood from spreading across the garage floor”, having then amputated the limbs with a chainsaw “and possibly other tools”.

The application, says the agency, states that D4vd, 21 years old, whose legal name is David Burke, had purchased the pool on the internet, under a fictitious name, two chainsaws, a shovel, a body bag and other materials, having them delivered to his residence in the Hollywood Hills after the crime.

The torso and head in an advanced state of decomposition of the singer’s girlfriend, Celeste Rivas Hernandez14, were discovered in September inside a stuffed body bag registered to Burke, according to police, prosecutors and medical examiners.

According to the eight-page court filing, Burke was the last person driving the vehicle on July 29, 2025, before abandoning it near his residence and going on tour. Weeks later, the car was towed to a yard, where employees detected an odor of decomposition and alerted the authorities.

Wednesday’s request, a copy of which was published by , also presents the prosecutors’ first reference to a possible mobile for crime.
