Almost 40 years after the launch of the first generation, the Japanese brand enters a new era and presents its first 100% electric model.
It was 1988 when Suzuki presented the Vitara to the world, one of its most iconic models. It was known for its versatility, resistance and off-road capabilities. Now the E Vitara arrives, the first 100% electric vehicle from the Japanese brand. We went to see it on the outskirts of Madrid and the first observation is that it is completely different from the combustion Vitara, which will continue to be sold.
The E Vitara is a completely new car and debuts a new platform developed exclusively for electric vehicles. It arrives with two battery capacities. There are two front-wheel drive versions and an all-wheel drive version. The version with a 61kWh battery and front-wheel drive guarantees a range of 426km. The all-wheel drive version has a motor on each axle and 184 hp.
The cabin is modern and comfortable and is dominated by two digital screens and the new steering wheel with integrated controls.
