Prime Video announced the start of filming for the second season of Tremembé, a Brazilian series that became a true phenomenon by portraying stories inspired by real crimes that marked the country. Recorded in São Paulo, the production returns even more intense, expanding the look at the so-called “prison of the famous”, where well-known figures serve sentences for high-profile cases.

After becoming the Original Brazilian series with the best debut in the platform’s history in Brazil, Tremembé now bets on new characters and even more provocative conflicts. According to Julia Priolli, Head of Creative at Amazon MGM Studios in Brazil, the success of the production is due to the care taken at each stage, from script to post-production, and the strong connection with the public that follows stories based on real events.

The new season follows the arrival of Dominique Scharf in the women’s wing, sentenced to 58 years in prison for crimes such as fraud, embezzlement and forgery. Meanwhile, Suzane von Richthofen remains one of the central figures, facing the challenge of rebuilding her image outside of prison and testing the limits of social acceptance. Elize Matsunaga also stands out when she tries to restart her life in an open regime, exploring a new profession.

On the male side, the narrative promises tension with the arrival of names like Thiago Brennand and Robinho, both convicted of sexual crimes. The coexistence between inmates highlights inequalities, privileges and conflicts that go far beyond the bars.
