Danko sounds the alarm: It can’t turn out well! He warns of a dark scenario for the EU

Many expectations from Slovakia’s accession to the European Union (EU) have been fulfilled. However, the Union is currently losing strength and competitiveness. This was pointed out by the vice-chairman of the National Council (NR) of the Slovak Republic and the leader of the coalition SNS Andrej Danko on the occasion of Friday’s anniversary of Slovakia’s accession to the EU. He fears that if this continues, the EU may fall apart.

“It is not a damned project, but if there is no reform, then this project will continue to cause mischief in the nations and it cannot turn out well. Today, Asian states and world powers underestimate the EU. The EU is losing strength and competitiveness, and if it continues like this, I am convinced that it cannot end other than the disintegration of the EU. We can only be sorry, because The EU was the leader, the euro was a strong currency even in relation to the dollar, and we are losing all that,” he told journalists in parliament during the week.

Danko criticized, for example, the fact that there is not the same approach in the social system in the EU. At the same time, he reproached the Union for unifying things and areas whose issues it should not deal with. He also spoke about the failure of the EU in the area of collective security, border protection and military cooperation. At the same time, however, he appreciated that many of the expectations that SR had since joining the EU have been fulfilled. For example, he called the Eurozone an advantage.
