Two commercial aircraft operating at Congonhas Airport, in the south of São Paulo, approached each other during maneuvers late this Thursday morning (30).
The case involved a Boeing 737-800 from Gol, which was landing from Salvador, and an Embraer E195-E2 from Azul, which was taking off to Confins.
According to information released by the specialized website, the aircraft were separated by around 22 meters vertically. , the Gol plane began a right turn, while the Azul aircraft turned left.
Despite the scare, the Gol flight made another approach and landed safely in Congonhas. The Azul plane continued normally to Confins, where it landed uneventfully.
In a note sent to CNN Brazilthat “there is no record of collision” and highlighted that the management of Brazilian airspace is the responsibility of the Airspace Control Department (Decea), a body linked to the FAB.
Gol reported that flight G3 1629 landed safely and within the scheduled time. The company also stated that it fully cooperates with the case.

In a statement, the Brazilian Air Force (FAB), through the Center for Investigation and Prevention of Aeronautical Accidents (CENIPA), informed that investigators from the Center, based in Brasília (DF), were called to carry out the Initial Action of the incident.
“During the Initial Action, qualified and accredited professionals apply specific techniques for collecting and confirming data, preserving elements, initial verification of damage caused to the aircraft or by the aircraft, in addition to collecting other information necessary for the investigation”, says the note.
