Score against Messias surpassed Flávio Bolsonaro’s prediction – 05/01/2026 – Panel

The overwhelming score against his nomination to the STF (Supreme Federal Court) surprised even the senator (-RJ), pre-candidate for president. Flávio cast 38 votes in favor of Messias. There were 34.

The minister of the AGU (Advocacy General of the Union) needed the support of at least 41 of the 81 senators in a secret vote to be approved. The vote, 34 yes votes against 42 no, exceeded the expectations of even the most optimistic Bolsonarists.

The vote map made by Flávio also indicates that the general scenario for Messias changed for the worse in the five months that separated the nomination, on November 20, from the vote, on Wednesday (29).

The president of the Senate responded that Flávio had 36 votes against the AGU minister — which meant that, at that point, there were a maximum of 45 votes in favor, a tight margin compared to the 41 needed.
