The National Congress this Thursday (30) the presidential veto to bill no. 2,162/2023, the called Dosimetry PL. The text proposes a reduction in sentences for those convicted of the acts of January 8, including former Chief Executive Jair Bolsonaro. Through social networks, the opposition celebrated the decision of the Legislature, while government base parliamentarians by President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) lamented.
The federal deputy Lindbergh Farias (PT-RJ) called the PL “unconstitutional”. The parliamentarian stated that the decision to overturn Lula’s veto “reveals the spurious face of an agreement created by sectors that are enemies of the people” with the aim of, in addition to reducing the sentences of those convicted of January 8th, “shielding politicians linked to Banco Master”. The congressman declared that the proposal will be judicialized before the Federal Supreme Court (STF).

The federal deputy Erika Hilton (PSOL-SP) classified the decision as “shameful”. The congresswoman said that, in practice, Congress is granting amnesty. She still called on the population to take to the streets against the Legislature’s decision.

On the contrary, the federal deputy Andre Janones (Rede-MG) wove criticism of the left wing’s treatment of the Dosimetry PL.
