Copenhagen – The transport ship with the humpback whale Timmy, who was stranded off Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, has now almost reached the North Sea after a journey of days. According to the ship tracking service Vesselfinder, it was around 11 nautical miles (around 20 kilometers) from the northernmost point of Denmark early in the morning. There, near the town of Skagen, the Kattegat and Skagerrak flow together, which is why it is also referred to as the entrance to the North Sea.
