Flávio denies agreement between opposition and Moraes by Master’s CPI

Pre-candidate for President says that voting on dosimetry had priority and that the commission should move forward in the next sessions

The senator and pre-candidate for President (PL-RJ) denied coordination between opposition congressmen and Minister Alexandre de Moraes, of the Federal Supreme Court. The statement was made in an interview with BandNews, released on Saturday (May 1, 2026).

Flávio Bolsonaro denied behind-the-scenes information that pointed to a possible exchange of interests between opposition congressmen and members of the Judiciary. “What happened was a coincidence of agendas. The vote to overturn the dosimetry veto had priority at that time, including to benefit people who are still in prison”he stated.

The senator said that the opposition will continue to defend the creation of the commission of inquiry. According to him, Banco Master’s CPMI “has not been abandoned”.

The statement was made in response to the repercussion of information about an alleged pact involving Banco Master’s CPMI. Report published in March by the newspaper The Globe suggested an agreement to block the commission in exchange for political benefits.

Flávio Bolsonaro criticized journalist Malu Gaspar’s investigation into the supposed agreement. Said that “wrong sources were heard” in those that pointed out the existence of negotiation.

The pre-candidate mentioned the president (PT) and representatives of Banco Master. Discussions about the CPMI and the aforementioned votes take place in the National Congress.

Banco Master’s CPMI should advance in the next sessions of Congress, according to Flávio. The opposition will continue to press for the installation of the commission.

Criticism of the government and the Supreme Court

Flávio assessed that the government’s defeats in Congress indicate fragility in the Planalto’s political articulation. He cited recent setbacks, such as the rejection of and the overturning of vetoes.

The senator said that the Legislature has given “messages” to the Supreme Court and defended that Congress reinforce its autonomy.

classified the government as “uncontrolled” in public accounts. He cited the increase in debt and the tax burden as problems, without presenting numbers.

Flávio Bolsonaro stated that proposals such as the end of the 6×1 scale are “populist”. According to him, the objective would be to improve the government’s image in an election year.

He also said that the opposition must act to block measures that increase public spending without fiscal responsibility.
