Nursing technician accuses Magno Malta of assault – 05/02/2026 – Politics

A nursing technician accused the senator of attacking her when performing a medical procedure on the congressman on Thursday (30), at the DF Star hospital, in Brasília.

She filed a police report and said that the congressman slapped her in the face and insulted her. Malta denies the accusations and said that he reacted to the physical suffering after the professional’s error, but without physical violence.

The senator is hospitalized at DF Star due to a sudden illness and underwent a chest and coronary angiotomography, a non-invasive imaging test. The hospital is the former president (PL), who underwent shoulder surgery.

The nursing technician is 27 years old and claims that the pump that was supposed to inject contrast failed, which caused the liquid to leak into Malta’s arm.

“The victim informed the attacker that he would need to compress his arm, at which point the attacker got up from the tomograph and, when the victim approached to help him, he slapped the victim hard in the face, even bending his glasses”, says an excerpt from the incident report registered by the DF Civil Police.

The woman said she was scared and said she left the room immediately and called a nurse and a doctor, but that treatment was denied by Malta. She stated that her “face became sore and red” and that she has a witness to corroborate her accusation.

“The victim reports being afraid of meeting the aggressor after the events narrated occurred and adds that she was also verbally attacked, being called incompetent and filthy by the aggressor”, concludes the police report.

The senator denies that he attacked or cursed the hospital employee. In a note, he stated that she “administered the contrast in a technically incorrect way”, which led to “the formation of thrombosis and significant hematoma, an event of high clinical severity, with the potential for circulatory compromise and risk to physical integrity”.

Malta said that, “feeling intense pain, he reacted to the physical suffering and not to the technician”, immediately calling the doctor responsible for monitoring.

“At no time did he commit any act of physical violence against the professional, nor did he utter any words that were not mere expressions of intense pain”, says the note.

The senator stated that the nursing technician, in making the complaint classified by him as false, had the “purpose of self-protection in the face of the technical error committed”.

He says that “the conduct narrated by the professional is not supported by any evidence, while the procedural error she practiced is documented by the clinical evolution itself”.

The DF Star hospital stated, in a statement, that it began an administrative investigation and “has been providing full support to the employee who reported being a victim of aggression.” “The unit also reiterates that it is available to provide all necessary clarifications to the authorities involved in investigating the episode,” he said.

In the early afternoon of this Saturday (2), Malta said that it also registered a police report, in which it denies that it attacked the professional and asks for an investigation into the case.

“Due to the clinical condition, the acute pain and the use of medication, the communicator presented a reaction compatible with the physical suffering experienced, without, however, carrying out any act of physical aggression against health professionals”, says the senator’s report in the bulletin.

Malta reported that he was surprised by the registration of the incident by the nursing technician and says that “there was no intentional conduct or deliberate aggression, with a possible reaction resulting exclusively from the state of intense pain at the time of the medical incident”.

The senator also demands the immediate preservation of images from the hospital’s security cameras, a hearing from the medical team, a forensic examination on his right arm, an examination of any object involved in the episode, such as the technician’s glasses, in addition to “due accountability for any abuses.”

The Maltese team stated that it is considering asking for compensation for moral damages to the responsible technician and DF Star and offering criminal news for the “offense of false reporting of a crime”. In addition, it evaluates representing the professional at Coren-DF (Regional Nursing Council of the Federal District).

Magno Malta is 68 years old and is in his third term as senator. He was elected in 2002, re-elected in 2010 and elected again in 2022.
