Brasileirão: Palmeiras snatch a draw from Santos – 05/02/2026 – Sports

In an eventful game, with many wasted chances and shots, Palmeiras snatched a draw from Santos, on Saturday night (2), at Allianz Parque, in São Paulo, for the Brazilian Championship.

The visitors — who arrived late at the arena and did not participate in the playing of the national anthem — came out ahead. While Palmeiras were more aggressive in the first minutes, it was Rollheiser, an Argentine striker from the Vila Belmiro team, who was the first to find the net, in the 25th minute, with a strong left-footed shot.

After the goal, the white team increased the pressure and wasted a series of chances, the best of which was a shot from Colombian Jhon Arias that was very well saved by Gabriel Brazão.

At the break, the home fans booed the team a lot, as there were many passing errors.

In the final stage, Santos was once again late, but had a good chance in the second minute, with Barreal. In the 18th minute, however, striker Flaco López finally managed to put Palmeiras on the scoreboard, after receiving the ball from Andreas Pereira in front of the goal and putting it into the net.

The final ten minutes of the match saw a lot of pressure from the home team, who regained the support of the fans. In stoppage time, Allan hit hard from outside the area, the ball deflected off Arias and went in, but analysis by the video referee showed that the Colombian touched the ball with his hand. The goal was disallowed.

There was a beginning of confusion between players just before the final whistle and when the match was ended.

Santos played without star Neymar, who was rested. Palmeiras was led by João Martins, as coach Abel Ferreira is still suspended.

With this result, Palmeiras continues to lead the Brazilian Championship, with 33 points, and completes its 13th match, in all competitions, without suffering a defeat. The last time the Alviverde team lost was on March 12, 2-1, against Vasco, in the national tournament.

Santos left the Z4, at least for now, with 15 points — one more than Internacional, the first team in the relegation zone.

Also for the Brazilian Championship, Botafogo was beaten by Remo at the Nilton Santos stadium, in stoppage time, losing 2-1. It was Remo’s first victory away from home in the championship. In Salvador, at Barradão, Vitória beat Coritiba 4-1.
