Slovak actress Jana Nagyová (67) became famous for her role in the cult series Arabela, where she played a princess. She made her last film in 1993 and then disappeared from the camera. A few years ago, however, there was a spectacular comeback. In the past, she revealed why she quit acting and what sustained her during that period.
“I retreated. I didn’t know how to get out of that circle. They were shouting Arabela at me everywhere. I had no privacy. I wanted to be a housewife, to be at home with children. I didn’t have a childhood, I’ve been playing since I was thirteen. I wanted to have children and a family,” she admitted. During the period when Nagyová was not engaged in acting, she was not idle. She ran a business and gradually lived in Prague, Austria and Germany.
Nagyová only found happiness alongside her third husband – German businessman Toni Pulm. Her first partner was a hockey coach Miro Kubovič, with whom he has a daughter, Jana. She moved to Germany with her second husband, businessman Harald Schlegel, where she devoted herself fully to caring for her family and the couple had a son, Harald. He and Pulmo were again happy with Sophie’s daughter Emma.
“I’ve been married several times. I’ve had three husbands and I’ve given birth to one child each. When I got married for the first time, I was still acting. When my daughter was born, I went on maternity leave. After six weeks, I returned to the theater. I carried Janička to the dressing room, she almost grew up in the theater. When my son was born in 1987, I told myself that I couldn’t put it together the way I imagined. And I decided to choose the path of motherhood and family,” she explained in the show last year
At the beginning of April, she showed her beautiful family at the Prague premiere of her latest film, Champion. In the film about the figure skater Ondrej Nepel, she played the legendary coach Hilda Múdra, and in the Czech capital she was accompanied by her closest relatives – her husband Toni, the youngest daughter Sophie Emma, a son-in-law and a small grandson.
