The Minister of the Secretariat of Institutional Relations of the Presidency of the Republic, José Guimarãeshe stated this Wednesday (6), in an interview with CNN Brazilthat President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) should meet with the President of the United States, Donald Trumpto address two main themes: rare earths and the fight against trafficking and organized crime.
According to the minister, the objective is to seek an international partnership that respects Brazilian sovereignty.
“The president’s trip is strategic. Two points deserve special emphasis. The first is the issue of critical minerals. This can bring to Brazil, in addition to strengthening sovereignty, new investments. The other is the joint fight against organized crime and criminal factions”, he stated.
“The president will discuss this topic to evaluate joint actions, with international efforts. If there is one thing that the president has valued, it is the country’s sovereignty. Nobody puts their finger, nobody puts their hand here. Brazil belongs to Brazilians and he wants to transform Brazil into a power”, he added.
