US President Donald Trump has once again threatened Iran if an agreement is not reached between the two countries to end the conflict in the Middle East. In a publication in Truth Social, the American president warned that, without a pact, bombings against Tehran will begin at a level and intensity “much greater than before”.
Trump, on the other hand, stated in the post that if Iran agrees to yield whatever is agreed upon – which he said is “perhaps a big assumption” – the American operation in the region will come to an end and the “highly effective” blockade will allow the Strait of Hormuz to remain open to everyone.
The comment came amid expectations of a deal between the US and Iran.
Earlier, Axios reported that the White House believes it is close to a pact with Tehran around a one-page memorandum of understanding to end the war and establish a framework for more detailed nuclear negotiations. THE CNBCin turn, reported that Iran is evaluating Washington’s proposal.
