Jadranka Handlovská (58) is known to Slovaks mainly as a singer, but at the beginning of her career, she gained considerable visibility by hosting the show Weather on the Marquee. In the past, she had a hard time leaving the popular TV show, which she spoke about for . Years later, she talked about the details of why she was fired from CEO and co-owner Pavel Rusk (62).
“I was in Markíza for two and a half years, but unfortunately there were still some misunderstandings there. Basically, there was a huge pressure to get me out of there… From various people, including the presenters at the time. I knew that right away when the auditions for frogs started again. It was done regularly in Markíza, one could say simultaneously with the Miss competition. They always wanted to push some kind of mission in there,” said the native of Bratislava.
According to Jadranka’s words she was told by Russia that if she gets a high viewership, she is safe. “Well, I was kicked out with that high viewership. If this hadn’t happened in my life, I wouldn’t be where I am now. Because I wouldn’t be singing, I wouldn’t be moving on. It was a difficult period for me, because I believed in myself, I was confident in my kramfleks. I was sure that I was good at it, that I was popular,” said Jadranka, who she was fired exactly on Valentine’s Day.
“After that it was a difficult time, because for about a year and a half everyone was afraid to take me somewhere. What I probably did to that Rusk or someone else from Marquise. They just threw me out for a minute. At that time I even had the flu and caught it with Valentine’s Day. Until now, I will never forget Valentine’s Day in my life, I even hated it for years. It marks a person, but it moved me. It was really such a kick up the road,” concluded the singer, who was searching for a while, but then decided that she would try hosting various events and singing songs as well.
