PF dismantles cocaine scheme in coffee loads

Operation Off-Grade Coffee carried out warrants in Rio, Espírito Santo, Minas Gerais and São Paulo against the group

The Federal Police (May 7, 2026) 3 members of a criminal organization suspected of sending cocaine abroad hidden in shipments of coffee. The Off-Grade Coffee operation also carried out 7 search and seizure warrants in Rio de Janeiro, Espírito Santo, Minas Gerais and São Paulo. The group operated from the Port of Rio.

The PF investigation began after federal police officers seized approximately 1.2 tons of cocaine in June 2025. The drug was hidden in a container loaded with bags of coffee destined for Germany.

There is evidence of money laundering through bank transfers. Those investigated may face charges of international drug trafficking, criminal organization, money laundering and ideological falsehood.

Other members of the group were subjected to precautionary measures, including the prohibition of contact between those involved, restriction of movement and electronic monitoring.

According to the PF, the mission focuses on the arrest of organized crime leaders and seeks to financially weaken these organizations by blocking logistical routes used to transport drugs.
