“It needs to be investigated”, says Tarcísio about the operation against Ciro Nogueira

The governor of São Paulo, Tarcísio de Freitas (Republicans), stated on Friday (8) that the police operation that targeted Senator Ciro Nogueira “has nothing to do with us” and sought to distance political allies from the strain caused by the investigation.

When commenting on , Tarcísio classified the episode as “a big scandal” and defended the continuity of the investigations.

“We are facing a huge scandal, a national scandal, a scandal of gigantic proportions, and this has to be clarified. The population demands a response, the population can no longer bear to see episodes of corruption, they will no longer admit being harmed”, stated the governor.

Tarcísio also declared that the case “needs to be investigated, it needs to be investigated, no matter who it hurts” and said he hoped that “everything will be clarified” and that “amounts will be returned”.

The operation investigates suspicions that Ciro Nogueira had received payments from banker Daniel Vorcaro to act politically in favor of Banco Master. The senator denies irregularities.
