PT leader in the Chamber of Deputies celebrates suspension of the Dosimetry Law by Moraes

The federal deputy and leader of the Workers’ Party bench in the Chamber of Deputies, Pedro Uczai (PT-SC), celebrated on social media the suspension of the Dosimetry Law determined by the Minister of the Federal Supreme Court (STF) Alexandre de Moraes this afternoon.

“Congress can legislate, but it cannot use the law as a shield for those who tried to carry out a coup d’état. And the reporting minister at the STF fulfilled the role of constitutional check and balance through constitutionality control in order to strengthen the path of protection of the Democratic Rule of Law”, stated the deputy.

Moraes suspended the application of the Dosimetry Law (15,402/2026), which reduced the sentence for those convicted of participating in the undemocratic acts of January 8, 2023. The application of the Law is suspended until the judgment, by the STF plenary, of Direct Unconstitutionality Actions (ADIs) 7,966 and 7,967, which challenge the Dosimetry Law.
