The PL launched this Saturday, with the presence of senator Flávio Bolsonaro, the purebred ticket for the re-election of the governor of Santa Catarina, Jorginho Mello (PL). The composition, presented as part of the “Bolsonaro selection”, will include former councilor Carlos Bolsonaro (PL-SC), son of the former president, and federal deputy Caroline de Toni (PL-SC) as nominees for the Senate, in addition to Adriano Silva, former mayor of Joinville.
The event was marked by criticisms made by PL members of the Supreme Court and the government of President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT). When speaking at the end of the event, Flávio stated that the PT member was responsible for “theft from retirees” and for delivering an “education that is rubbish”. The senator also made a nod to the female audience, saying that he is in favor of reducing the age of criminal responsibility to 14 years in cases of rape, preaching cuts in the tax burden and expenses, in addition to resuming the “path to prosperity”.
— From 2027 onwards, Lula will no longer be president of Brazil. We will never talk about PT again, because they will retreat into their insignificance, [depois de] all the hatred that Lula 3 is committing, not only against patriots, but also the harm he does to Brazil against future generations — he said.

The ticket was officially launched after months of friction between Jorginho’s Santa Catarina allies due to Carlos Bolsonaro’s departure to the state to run for the Senate. The determination, which was endorsed by the former president, removed one of the vacancies in the composition, which was previously expected to include Carol de Toni and senator Esperidião Amin (PP-SC), an ally of the governor in the state. Faced with the possibility of being left out of the composition, the deputy threatened to leave the PL and migrate to another party, but ended up being announced as the nominee to run for the Senate alongside Carlos, leaving Amin out.
— In Santa Catarina, Carlos is Carol! God willing, we will be together in this challenge and will do what needs to be done in the Senate. Because the senators currently, with the exception of Flávio, who is still there, we have to have the courage to face the abuses of the Federal Supreme Court, which has censured, persecuted and committed the greatest political injustice of all time, which is to arrest our eternal president Bolsonaro without having committed any crime — said Caroline as she joined hands and called Carlos to the center of the stage.
The former councilor was then introduced by a video in which he commented on his relationship with his father, arrested last year and now under house arrest, and spoke about his personal connection in the state. When speaking about his family, Flávio’s pre-candidacy for the Presidency and the arrangement for the pure ticket in the state, Carlos became emotional and cried.
— I want to thank my dearest friend, Carol. Only we know what went through to make this pure plate. We were discredited at times and broke in different ways, but that is in the past — said the former councilor.
Carlos also said that, if elected to the Senate, he will be “a piece in the chess game to once again equalize powers and bring back what is left of democracy in this country”, saying that he will act against “torture” and for “freedom of expression”. The most explicit speech against the STF and the requests for impeachment of ministers, however, were carried out by Adriano Silva, chosen as a candidate for vice-governor.
Pre-candidate for re-election, Jorginho responded to criticism from opponents for the increase in lethality in clashes between police and criminals, stating that, under his government, these numbers “will continue to increase”. The governor also presented Flávio with a symbolic “passport” from Santa Catarina and paid tribute to the former president.

— Bolsonaro is suffering and is sick in favor of Brazil. Thanks! Tell him, Flávio, that we are here to continue his legacy. And you, the family, have a great commitment to honor your father’s name. I was very happy when you spoke to the businesspeople yesterday. I watched their nap and their joy in saying that you are Bolsonaro 2.0 — said Jorginho.
During the event, Jair Renan Bolsonaro (PL-SC), councilor for Balneário Camboriú and also the son of the former president, was presented as a pre-candidate for the Chamber of Deputies. On the occasion, the PL also presented a new campaign jingle by Flávio Bolsonaro, which has as its chorus the phrase “let’s get on the right foot because Brazil has a future”. The event also broadcast audio from the former president and had repetitions of the mottos “God, country, family and freedom” and “Brazil above all, God above all”.
