“Legislation tailored to benefit a specific group is not just a case in point, it is unconstitutional, as we stated in the direct unconstitutionality action filed by our party”, says Motta.
“The gravity of this becomes even greater when the objective is to absolve those who attacked democracy, one of the fundamental pillars of our political and institutional organization. Minister Moraes’ decision reinforces this understanding, and we hope that the STF will soon reaffirm that those responsible for the coup acts of January 8th must fully answer for their crimes”, he adds.
