Operation Castratio targets fraud scheme in contracts of the State Department of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply

O federal deputy Marcelo Queiroz (PSDB) is the target, this Tuesday (12), of Operation Castratiotriggered by the Federal Police (PF) to investigate suspected fraud in tenders in the government of Rio de Janeiro.

The action aims to dismantle a criminal group suspected of defrauding contracts linked to State Secretariat of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply of Rio de Janeiro (Seapa).

Federal police officers comply 12 search and seizure warrants issued by the Federal Supreme Court (STF). The actions take place in cities in Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo, including the capital of Rio de Janeiro, Niterói, Macaé, Itaocara, São Roque and Mairinque.

According to the PF, the investigation investigates alleged irregularities in contracts signed between the state government and a private company.

Those investigated may be held liable for the crimes of criminal organization, frustration of the competitive nature of bidding and money laundering, in addition to other crimes that may be identified during the investigation.
