The captain of the Fire Department, Karoline Burunsizian, reported this Monday (11) that a second possible victim is being looked for inside a residence close to the place where the explosion that hit various houses and one residential building in the Jaguaré neighborhood, in the West Zone of São Paulo.
“A lot of information arrives inconsistently, there are many residences. One of the neighbors said that a man was possibly inside, in the back house. But there is no other person who has confirmed this information, so we treat it as a hypothesis, but we do not rule out“, said the captain.
According to the firefighter, the fatal victim was found in the rubble of a house after the incident. “Dozens of houses were hit. This victim was located under the rubble after a structural collapse, a collapse following the strong explosion”, informed the Fire Department captain.
In addition to the victim who did not resist, three other people were injured. THE The existence of the alleged missing person, however, is based on statements from neighbors. “Right now the teams are working on a second possible victim who was, according to reports, in a residence in the back. We will remain at the scene until it is confirmed whether or not this person was inside that residence”, informed Karoline Burunsizian.

As reported by the Fire Department, a victim was taken to the Osasco Regional Hospital with chest injury. Others two injured they were attended non-local of the incident. The corporation reported that people were thrown by the explosion and others were buried.
In an interview with journalists, Karoline Burunsizian also said that they were two men and a woman rescued. The victims are stable. The estimate is that at least 10 properties have been hit by the explosion.
The Fire Department also reported that the incident was possibly caused for a liquefied petroleum gas explosion (GLP), popularly known as cooking gas. According to reports from residents, a team from the Basic Sanitation Company of the State of São Paulo (Sabesp) did works in the region.
