United States President Donald Trump gave a signal this Monday that he sees Vice President JD Vance as a possible Republican candidate for the White House in 2028.
During a dinner with allies and guests in the Rose Garden at the White House, Trump publicly addressed the succession when commenting on who could lead the Republican Party after the end of his term.
“Will it be JD? Will it be someone else? I don’t know”, he said, in a relaxed tone.
Then, the president asked for public reaction to possible names for the next dispute. First, he asked who supported Vance; later, he did the same in relation to the Secretary of State, Marco Rubio.
After the guests’ response, Trump concluded: “It looks like a good ticket.”
