Battle with Milan Ondrík on the set! Jackuliak ended up with a broken arm during the filming of the film

The movie Bojovník will come to cinemas in August 2026. The film, which entices viewers to enter the world of MMA, one of the most prominent phenomena of today, will lure Slovaks with an extraordinary cast. The main character is played by Milan Ondrík, he will be joined in other roles by Eliška Balzerová, Hana Vagnerová, Ján Jackuliak, Marián Mitaš, Martin Finger, Adam Vacula, Pavel Rímský and others.

The main character is Pavel “Hoff” Hoffmeister played by Milan Ondrík, he is a former European champion and Olympic medalist in boxing, who after years decides to return to wrestling. This time, he is not waiting for a familiar ring, but an MMA cage, new rules, a feared opponent and, above all, a past that can no longer be run away from.

In the film, the Slovak actor Ján Jackuliak takes an important role, who stood face to face with fellow actor Ondrík. It turned out harder than you’d think! “The movie Bojovník is actually really about the backstage of MMA and the Octagon. At the same time, it is a social drama. And the preparation was very difficult. It lasted two years with me personally,” he explained to Koktejl.sk with musician Teri Čikoš Jackuliak.

“Because I actually play the Hungarian wrestler Béla Kardos, who is nicknamed Tank, which means he is an absolutely uncompromising person. You have to see it in that movie. So it was preparation like Greco-Roman wrestling, boxing plus bodybuilding plus fitness, everything. But I was in good hands and I think those two years left a big mark,” he said. According to the actor, the final match takes place in a cage during the original Octagon. If a person has not trained and mastered it, it shows. That was his biggest challenge – getting the mentality of a wrestler.

He even got injured during filming, it was so intense! “Well… yes, it was during filming. We went with Milan for one lap and I broke my arm during an attack from Milan. But it was really caused by the fact that it is a fatigue fracture and it was a terrible pain. It was a terrible pain. I just thought that it was just a wound that we kept getting there, so I finished the whole round with a fracture. And that was a mistake,” Jackuliak surprisingly admitted.

Filming did not stop due to injury, he returned. “Things were moving for me there, but they operated on me, a wonderful doctor operated on me, and within a month I was back again… as I mean with my hand, but I finished the film. Two days later, I returned in front of the cameras and finished it.” added the Slovak actor.
