Billionaire Elon Musk appeared to be having fun in Beijing on Thursday morning, taking the opportunity to take a photo in front of the Great Hall of the People before the meeting between Donald Trump and Xi Jinping.
A video shows Elon Musk alongside other business leaders and US officials, including Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and Apple CEO Tim Cook. While they were talking, in several organized lines, Elon Musk raised his cell phone and slowly rotated it, capturing the scene in Beijing’s famous tourist spot.
The video was quickly watched hundreds of thousands of times, with many amused by Musk’s informality and apparent height.
“True to his nature, Musk posed for photos as relaxed as a child, while those around him were dressed formally and exuded an aura of authority,” commented one user on the social network X. “You don’t know the difference until you compare – and when you do, it’s a shock. [Elon] Musk is so tall that in the crowd he looks like a crane among chickens.”
Elon Musk responded briefly to the post – no words, just a laughing emoji.
