The president of , , stated in an interview with CNN Brasil on Tuesday (12) that he still wants the senator (-PI) on the platform with (PL-RJ), pre-candidate for the Presidency of the Republic.
Ciro Nogueira was the target of the 5th phase of the PF operation (), last Thursday (7), with search and seizure warrants being carried out at his address.
“Today we still want [Ciro no palanque de Flávio]why not? Until something is proven against him. If they prove something against him, the conversation changes”, said Valdemar in an interview.
The PL leader also said that the senator has the right to defend himself publicly and that his defense team is working towards this.
Ciro Nogueira published a video on his Instagram profile on Tuesday morning in which he claims he is being investigated for being an opposition leader and that persecutions occur in election years.
“There’s one thing that really surprised me: why start this operation with an opposition leader? These things don’t happen by chance, they happen because we’re in an election year. Technical issues and evidence are in the background for them,” he said.
The PF investigation report points out that the parliamentarian had received illicit payments to present the Master amendment, which aimed to increase the coverage of the FGC (Credit Guarantee Fund) from R$250,000 to R$1 million.

Valdemar also said that Ciro is a great political leader. “We want the PP on our side, it is a great party and has excellent politicians. We really need them”, he concluded.
