The Russian night attack on Kyiv hit dozens of civilian objects and claimed at least one victim. President Zelensky calls on partners for further support.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy declared that on Thursday night, Russia attacked Ukraine with more than 670 drones and 56 missiles. The main target of the night attacks was the metropolis of Kyiv, where, according to Zelensky, rescue work is still ongoing, as people probably remain stuck under the rubble. TASR informs about it according to the AFP agency.
“The Russians sent more than 670 attack drones and 56 missiles against Ukraine at night. Ballistic and aeroballistic missiles and cruise missiles were used in the attacks,” Zelenskyy said on the X platform.
Targets of attacks in Kiev
“The main target of this attack was Kyiv. Damage is reported in 20 places in the city – in ordinary residential buildings, a school, a veterinary clinic and other exclusively civilian infrastructure,” he declared.
At the same time, Zelenskyy confirmed previous reports that the Russian attacks on Kyiv claimed one victim, and added that strikes were also recorded in the cities of Kremenchuk and Chornomorsk.
Moscow deployed drones
According to him, since Wednesday midnight, Moscow has sent more than 1,560 drones to Ukraine.
“These are definitely not the actions of those who believe that the war is coming to an end. It is important that partners do not remain silent about this attack. And it is equally important to continue to support the protection of our airspace. We need the PURL initiative (Ukraine’s Priority Request List) so that Ukraine can protect itself from such ballistic missiles.
