The President of the United States, Donald Trump, stated that Chinese leader Xi Jinping offered, during talks this Thursday (14), to help resolve the conflict between the USA and Iran.

“President Xi would like to see a deal. He really would. And he offered. He said, ‘If I can help in any way, I would like to help,'” Trump told Sean Hannity, a journalist for the American broadcaster Fox News, in an interview recorded after the high-stakes negotiations in Beijing.
The American leader added: “Him.”
Trump was widely expected to press China to pressure Iran to accept a peace deal and reopen the Strait of Hormuz, a key oil passage that remains largely closed amid the war.
A US statement on the meeting said China agreed that the strait “must remain open” and that it opposes militarization and tolls through the strait, points that are largely in line with China’s previous statements.
Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated, in a separate interview with NBC News this Thursday (14), that “we don’t need their help.”
“We raised the issue to make our position clear and for them to understand, because it’s logical. We would talk about it, given the importance that this issue has,” Rubio told NBC.
