A gas leak has occurred in a work by the Basic Sanitation Company of the State of São Paulo (Sabesp) in Itaquera, east zone of São Paulo, on the afternoon of this Thursday, 14th.
The company punctured a pipeline belonging to the São Paulo Gas Company (Comgás) on Rua Senador Amaral Furlan, in the Parada XV de Novembro neighborhood.
When contacted, Sabesp did not respond to Estadão’s contact attempts. The space remains open.
Comgás stated, in a note sent to Estadão, that it was called to the address at 1:38 pm due to damage to the piped gas network.
According to the dealership, the team arrived at the scene at 2 pm and eliminated the leak. “After a technical assessment, it was found that there was no risk to residents,” he said.
Comgás also added that it previously provides information and technical data for the execution of works under the responsibility of third parties and that it carries out on-site monitoring whenever requested.
The episode occurred just three days after the gas leak followed by an explosion at a Sabesp project in Jaguaré, west of São Paulo.
According to the latest bulletin released by the São Paulo government, by the end of Thursday afternoon, 112 houses had been inspected. Of these, 27 were closed, while 85 were released for residents to return.
