Flávio would have negotiated R$134 million with Vorcaro to finance the film “Dark Horse”
The senator and pre-candidate for President, (PL-RJ), he stated this Thursday (May 14, 2026) in an interview with Globonews that the founder of the Master bank, , “He’s not a lazy banker, he’s a film investor”. Flavio denied any irregularity in contributions linked to the production of the film about the former president, (PL).
According to the senator, the businessman’s resources are linked exclusively to a private investment for the production of the biographical film. He said there is no “nothing to hide” and that the fundraising was done without using public incentives. “I did something normal”he declared, denying any irregularity.
Flávio stated that there was no donation or favor, but rather an investment with the expectation of financial return. “He’s not a lazy banker, he’s a film investor”he said when referring to the time he met and asked Vorcaro for help, suspected of orchestrating a fraud scheme with the sale of false credit bonds by Master.
The senator declared that the project is a “mega Hollywood production”, with cutting-edge technology, designed as a tribute to his father, whom he described as “victim of persecution” e “honest”. According to him, the initiative was a “dream” which justified the search for investors.
The transfers were destined to the Havengate Development Fund LP, based in Texas (USA), registered with the SEC (Securities and Exchange Commission), and were fully invested in the project, according to Flávio. He said that the lawyer Paulo Calixto, acted as fund manager and is a person he trusts.
Contact with the former banker, according to the senator, was in December 2024, through businessman Thiago Miranda, then owner of Portal Leo Dias, and was restricted to the film’s theme. Flávio stated that, at the time, he was facing difficulties in raising funds in Brazil and attributed the scenario to an alleged persecution by the Federal Police of opponents during the president’s government. The senator also said that he had not previously disclosed contact with the businessman because of a confidentiality clause in the film contract. According to him, Vorcaro breached the agreement and other investors took over the contribution, ending the relationship between the parties.
Flávio charged R$134 million from Vorcaro
At the beginning of 2025, the senator negotiated the payment of US$24 million (the equivalent of R$134 million according to the exchange rate at the time) with Daniel Vorcaro, according to a report on the website The Intercept Brazil published this Wednesday (May 13, 2026). The text says that the amount was intended to finance the production of the film “Dark Horse”, which tells the story of former president Jair Bolsonaro (PL).
According to the report, records of conversations on WhatsApp and indicate that Vorcaro committed to transferring the money in 14 installments. But only US$10.6 million (the equivalent of R$61 million according to the exchange rate at the time) were paid from February to May 2025. Intercept Brasil says it has documents proving the transactions, but it did not publish them or detail how it arrived at these figures.
