Intercept: Eduardo signed a contract as a film producer – 05/15/2026 – Politics

The former deputy (-SP) served as executive producer of the film “Dark Horse”, about the life of former president Jair Bolsonaro (PL), and signed a contract with powers over the financial management of the project, according to the website The Intercept Brasil. The documents obtained contradict Eduardo’s public statements that he had only ceded image rights, without holding any management role in the production.

According to Intercept, the contract, dated November 2023 and digitally signed by Eduardo on January 30, 2024, designates him and the federal deputy (PL-SP) as executive producers, alongside the production company GoUp Entertainment, based in the United States. The role would confer power to directly deal with budget control and financial management of an audiovisual project.

Also according to the website, the executive producers would be responsible for strategic financing decisions, preparing documentation for investors and identifying sources of funding for the film — which, at the time, was called “The Captain of the People”.

There would also be a draft contractual amendment, dated February 2024, citing Eduardo as the “financier” of the production. Intercept points out that there is no confirmation that the addendum was, in fact, signed.

Wanted by SheetEduardo did not comment until the publication of this text.

In an interview with CNN this Friday afternoon (15), the senator (PL-RJ) stated that the contract shown by Intercept is old and that Eduardo would publish a video to explain the situation. According to the senator, his brother never managed the film’s resources.

On Wednesday (13), the Intercept revealed that Flávio arranged with banker Daniel Vorcaro, from , the transfer of R$134 million to finance production, of which R$61 million has already been paid. An audio from September 2025 shows the senator demanding more resources from the banker. Flávio confirmed that he had asked Vorcaro for money for the film, but denied having received or offered advantages in return.

This Friday, the Intercept also published messages in which Eduardo advises businessman Thiago Miranda, an intermediary between Vorcaro and the Bolsonaro family, on how to send resources to the United States. “The ideal would be to have the resources already in the USA. From the USA to the USA it is easy”, Eduardo was quoted as saying.

In another message, he suggests: “Send as much as possible using this current system, with the current sender.”

The messages indicate that part of the amounts negotiated by Flávio with was transferred to the Havengate Development Fund LP, based in Texas (USA) and controlled by Eduardo’s allies — including Paulo Calixto, the lawyer responsible for the former deputy’s immigration process in the United States.

The Federal Police are investigating whether Vorcaro’s money for the film would have covered Eduardo’s expenses in the USA, where he moved in February 2025, alleging persecution by STF (Supreme Federal Court) minister Alexandre de Moraes.

In a post on social media on Thursday (14), Eduardo denied having received resources from the fund and stated that the suspicion “is not sustainable and is crude”. He also said that his immigration status in the USA would not allow such an operation. Mario Frias informed the Intercept that “Eduardo Bolsonaro is not and has never been an executive producer” of the film.

The total production budget, according to documents obtained by the website, is estimated at between US$ 23 million and US$ 26 million — a value that matches the amount that Flávio Bolsonaro negotiated with Vorcaro: US$ 24 million.
