The president (PT) stated this Thursday (14) that the link between the senator (-RJ) and the banker, from , is a “police case”.
The statements were made in Camaçari, Bahia, when the president was ending his speech and was questioned about the topic by the press.
“I’m not going to comment. It’s a police case. I’m not a police officer, I’m not an attorney general. His case is a police case. Is there a police chief here? There isn’t. So go to the first police station and ask how his case will be handled. Mine is to deal with the Brazilian people,” he said.
The statements were made one day after the one between Vorcaro and Flávio Bolsonaro, pre-candidate for president and Lula’s likely opponent in the October elections.
Earlier, at the inauguration of the program’s residence halls, the president did not mention his opponent by name, but said that “the truth takes time, but it never fails.”
“I confess to you, a citizen who learned character from Dona Lindu will not accept artificial intelligence to run a political campaign. If there is one thing a politician has to do, it is to look the people in the eye and allow the people to look him in the eye to know who is lying. And you are seeing it on television. The truth takes time, but it never fails”, stated the president.
The president went to Bahia to participate in the inauguration of two housing complexes under the Minha Casa Minha Vida program. With 384 housing units, the project had an investment of R$65 million with resources from the New PAC. The ceremony was attended by beneficiaries of the program, politicians and PT activists.
In the afternoon, Lula visited Fafen Bahia, a nitrogen fertilizer factory, which resumed production in January. With an investment of R$100 million, the factory has a production capacity of 1,300 tons of urea per day, a volume equivalent to 5% of national demand).
The factory had been hibernated in 2019, as part of the company’s divestment plan, and returned to operation amid the process of reactivating nitrogen fertilizer plants in Brazil.
