Voting took place this Friday (15), during a meeting of the Collegiate Board of the health body
The National Health Surveillance Agency (Anvisa) decided this Friday (15) maintain suspension of Ypê brand cleaning products. The decision on the manufacturer’s appeal, initially scheduled for Wednesday (13), was defined at a meeting of the health body’s Collegiate Board. The result of the vote was unanimous.
The meeting was attended by Anvisa’s CEO, Leandro Safatle, director Thiago Campos, director Daniela Marreco and director Daniel Pereira.
“The manufacturing, marketing and use of products remain prohibited, and it is up to the company to immediately communicate to consumers and traders its plan for the disposal of products found in the markets”, said Daniel Pereira.
The meeting was supposed to take place on Wednesday, but it was held by Leandro Safatle, who confirmed the return of the topic to the collegiate board’s agenda.
On the 7th, the agency determined whose lots end with the number 1encompassing categories of concentrated dishwasher, washing liquid e disinfectants.
The original restriction was motivated by possible contamination e due to non-compliance with Good Manufacturing Practice standardsflaws identified during a joint health inspection with bodies from the state and municipality of São Paulo.
Química Amparo, manufacturer of Ypê, filed an appeal against the decision. The appeal guaranteed automatic suspensive effect on punishmentwhich freed the temporary sale of items. However, with Anvisa’s decision this Friday, the appeal is no longer valid.
