Michael Jackson songs increase 209% after biopic

Songs by singer Michael Jackson (1958-2009) had a 209% increase in streaming reproductions in the United States after the release of his biopic in theaters.

According to Billboard, the King of Pop’s tracks went from 61.5 million in the week of April 17 to 24 to 190.3 million in the period between May 1 to 7.

The prominence of Michael’s work is no surprise to the public. His songs are breaking records around the world with each passing day.

This Friday (15), the e reached the global charts of the Spotify streaming application.

The King of Pop occupies two places in the 50 most listened to on the platform in Brazil and is among the 20 most listened to artists — ahead of Taylor Swift, Bad Bunny and The Weeknd.

Billboard’s “R&B/Hip-Hop Albums” last Tuesday (12), forty years after its release.

Another of the singer’s albums, “Number Ones”, released in 2003, reached second place in the rankings — making Michael the first artist to simultaneously occupy the top two positions on the chart.
