Ex-moderator and influencer Adriana Kneissl said this after an interview with moderator Adela Vinczeová in the podcast caught from all sides. Many people were turned off by her statements about obese people. A person who loses weight, according to the former face of the Marquis Telerán, thinks differently.
“I swear to God! Fat brains think differently than thin brains. Even those fat people, they know how to laugh, a lot of fun, everything, life,” she didn’t take the napkins. Vincze only grabbed her head and reminded her that they had to check themselves. After an avalanche of negative reactions, Kneissl withdrew from social networks for several days.
She then broke her silence and decided to send a message to everyone who was touched by her words. “I’m sorry that some of my statements sounded insensitive, hurtful or judgmental. Some were taken out of context, not fully explained, but that happens in such conversations. It was not my aim to offend, ridicule or disparage anyone. At the same time, I understand that on such a sensitive topic it is not enough to just say what I think. It is also important how my words will be understood,” she said.
She reminded that she is not an expert. “I also want to make it clear that I am not a doctor or a nutritionist. I shared my personal experience with changing my lifestyle. I was only talking about what I observed in myself, that after losing extra pounds I felt a change in my thinking and energy“, she added.
He admits that the chosen phrase was not appropriate. “If I spoke about fat brains, it was my, I admit, very unfortunate naming of the influence of obesity on the human psyche. I respect the work of experts in the field of nutrition, exercise, health and psychology. At the same time, I realize that the topic of weight and body is very sensitive for many people,” Kneissl poured ashes on her head.
With the passage of time, the presenter also sees positives in the whole case. According to her, the scandal started an important discussion about the personal responsibility each of us bears for our own health, body and life decisions. If this situation has forced people to think more about a healthier lifestyle, movement or prevention, he sees it as a step in the right direction. However, he points out that these topics need to be discussed sensitively.
“Each of us decides for ourselves. Everyone has the right to live as they see fit. Someone wants to make changes in their life and someone doesn’t. And both are fine,” she stated. At the same time, she sent a clear message to all those affected by her statements.
“I am sincerely sorry. I wasn’t talking about specific people, I was talking about myself, my story, my experience, and my path is not a guide for everyone. We are all different and something works differently for everyone. And that’s how it will always be,” added Adriana in her statement. You can find the full VIDEO at the beginning of the article.
The familiar face of STVR hits back at the haters
After the apology, the influencer received another wave of criticism. At the same time, the long-time presenter of STVR publicly defended her Gregor Marešwho previously worked at Telerán. “I hate opportunism with all my heart. Befriending someone for benefits. Hating the one who is currently in the mud for likes. And make money from it. That is…,” he was angry on the social network.
He added that he would not give it to him and he had to express himself. “Yes, in that podcast with Adela, she threw out a few unfortunate phrases, ill-conceived things that shouldn’t have been said, there were inaccuracies in the book, but: is Adriana a good and hardworking person? YES. Is it on the hook? Certainly not. I know her and I know that she is very worried about it. She didn’t kill anyone, she didn’t steal anything, she apologized,” emphasized the face of public television.
Mareš continued by saying that this is exactly the time when a person should lend a hand and pull a friend out of the mud. “If I were in her place, I would turn all the hate into something good. For example, to support the fight against the obesity pandemic, which has been destroying our country for years,” advised the ex-moderator publicly.
In addition, he also sent her a personal message. “Adriana, long time no see, but I remember you as a warrior. So fight! And let the one who has never done something stupid throw a stone! Much more important than what a person does is how they react to it!” he added at the end of his status.
