Samsung is responsible for almost a quarter of all exports from South Korea. The company produces about a third of the world’s DRAM, the storage element needed in virtually every computer, smartphone or data center. Accordingly, the government in Seoul wants to do everything in its power to prevent an announced strike at Samsung – if necessary by banning it. Meanwhile, employees feel cheated out of their contribution to the AI boom.
