The Hotel Vila Galé Albacora, in Tavira, completed a series of interventions in its public and social areas, reinforcing the modernization of the hotel unit before the start of the summer season.
The works covered several areas of the project, including the creation of a new roundabout at the hotel’s entrance, with the aim of improving access and circulation upon arrival at the space.

The entrance hall also underwent a complete renovation, with new floors, walls and ceilings, creating a more contemporary, bright and welcoming environment.
Bar and restaurant have a new image
The bar and restaurant were also completely renovated, benefiting from new finishes and a renewal of the interior image.
In the restaurant, new buffets were also installed, allowing a more functional and attractive presentation of the gastronomic offer.

According to the hotel group, these improvements aim to provide “a differentiating experience from the first moment”.
Previously, the unit’s rooms had already undergone interventions, becoming “more cozy and practical”.
Unit preserves historical heritage linked to fishing
Housed in a building listed as national heritage, Vila Galé Albacora occupies the space of the former Arraial Ferreira Neto, a historic center linked to canning and fishing activities in the region.
The architectural complex was recovered by the Vila Galé Group in 2000, through a rehabilitation project that preserved the memory and authenticity of the site, integrating it into the Ria Formosa landscape.

Currently, the unit has 163 rooms installed in old fishermen’s houses, a master suite in the master’s old house, as well as a museum linked to tuna fishing, a chapel and spaces dedicated to families and children.
From the hotel it is also possible to take a boat to Tavira Island and Praia da Terra Estreita.
“This hotel is very special, it represents the first example of recovery of Vila Galé’s historical heritage”, highlights Pedro Ribeiro, commercial director of the hotel group.
It states that it continues to invest in the requalification and modernization of its units in the Algarve.
