Israeli police forced activists detained aboard a Gaza-bound humanitarian aid flotilla to kneel on the ground in rows, with their hands tied behind their backs, as the Minister of National Security looked on. The action generated criticism from foreign leaders, including Portugal, and even from members of the Israeli government itself.

After the arrest of the activists, who, according to organizers, numbered 430 people, including citizens of Portugal, Italy or South Korea, far-right minister Itamar Ben-Gvir published a video on social media.

The video also shows dozens of detained activists kneeling in rows, with their hands tied behind their backs, in what appears to be an open-air Israeli port facility. In the background, soldiers armed with rifles patrolled the area aboard a military vessel.
