A safety net in essence no different from that attempt to approve a constitutional amendment that would leave parliamentarians beyond the reach of Justice. It was blocked due to pressure from public opinion.
This time, if there is no general outcry, the noise will pass through the senators whose parties benefit from it. The path is facilitated by an agreement between the Chamber, Senate, government and opposition to overturn the presidential veto on a provision of the Budget Guidelines Law and, thus, allow donations of goods and money during the electoral campaign.
This is a cane field of trickery under the aegis of illegality and the effrontery of a hypertrophied Legislative Power — and which still intends to emerge stronger from this election in which the parties are especially committed to obtaining the largest possible number of seats in Parliament.
With this type of credential, congressmen do not encourage society to actively participate in the composition of the legislative Houses. On the contrary: they feed the distance resulting from the repulsion towards procedures that serve the financial dominance of party leaderships addicted to the support of the State.
