Mountain Festival opens 6th edition in São Bento do Sapucaí – 05/20/2026 – É Logo Ali

This Friday (22) the 6th edition of the Mountain Festival will open in São Bento do Sapucaí, 200 kilometers from São Paulo, close to Campos do Jordão, on the São Paulo side of the Mantiqueira mountain range. And, proving that mountaineering and adventure and nature sports have only grown in recent years, the event even gained a sponsor who bought the “naming rights” — the sports equipment manufacturer Columbia, one of the group’s favorite brands, born in Oregon, in the United States, in 1938.

“The arrival of Columbia marks a new cycle for the festival”, says the festival’s creator, Michele Dutra. “It is the union between purpose, territory and a global brand that shares the same values that brought us here: connection with nature, community and experience. This step strengthens our legacy that has been built for years and significantly expands the impact of the festival inside and outside Brazil”, he adds.

And this year’s event, in addition to the new chic sponsorship and films about various sports, will have news for all profiles and ages, as is the party’s tradition. “We have become a platform for experiences, information and learning”, defines Michele. She highlights that, in addition to the many workshops and lectures on different sports, the festival will celebrate the 30th anniversary of the group Cosmo Marumbi – Mountain Relief Corps, a pioneer in rescuing mountaineers that operates in the Marumbi state park, in Paraná. They will launch a book that tells the story of a unique work and a film specially made to celebrate the date.

In addition to the candles on the cake for Cosmo, another new feature of the festival will be the holding of the Deuter Trail Run by Mountain Festival, the first mountain running event at the location, sponsored by another major sports equipment manufacturer, the German company Deuter, and which will offer route options of 8k, 13k and 21k, all with views of Pedra do Baú, the most famous tourist spot in São Bento do Sapucaí.

And, considering that all sports included in the program involve a greater or lesser degree of risk, the Sports Medicine Symposium will be held, free and open to everyone who wants to listen to lectures with professionals who will talk about sport and health.

“Mountaineering has grown a lot in recent years, making the sport more accessible to more people, mainly because of social networks and trail apps”, explains Michele, “but problems with overcrowded trails, litter and people going unprepared have also increased.” And she considers that, today “the mountain is more digital, with GPS, applications and online courses, focusing on sporting challenges and performance, but at the same time there is growing concern about environmental preservation and health”.

“In general”, summarizes the festival’s creator, “we are living in a time of expansion, but still of adaptation to balance access, security and care for nature”.
