The former governor of Minas Gerais and pre-candidate for President for Novo, Romeu Zemasaid this Wednesday (20) that the senator’s explanations Flavio Bolsonaro (PL-RJ) about audios sent to Daniel Vorcaro, from Banco Master, “were not convincing enough”.
In a press conference after participating in the March of Municipalities, in Brasília, the presidential candidate from Minas Gerais stated: “I remain very disappointed”.
Zema’s criticism was one of the first repercussions on the audio released by Intercept Brasil, millionaire amounts to fund the film “Dark Horse”which portrays the political trajectory of the former president Jair Bolsonaro (PL).
In the video released by Zema, and “unforgivable” e “a slap in the face of the Brazilian”. In more recent speeches, the former governor has already said, however, that the episode would be “page turned”.
“We need a president with credibility. Even though I live in the same city as the criminal banker, I never had a meeting with him. He went after people he saw would be well received. My way of acting is the opposite of what he [Vorcaro] practice. It’s even strange that he never sought out the government of Minas,” said Zema.
The hardening of Zema’s criticisms comes after Flávio admitted that he met with the owner of Master after his first arrest was ordered, at the end of 2025. The senate states that he sought out Vorcaro to “put an end to the issue” involving the production of the film.
Zema and Flávio have had a closer public relationship since the beginning of the pre-campaign for Planalto.
They appeared in videos together joking about the possibility of one joining the other’s ticket, under the motto of uniting the right-wing camp to face President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) in a possible second round in the October elections.
