The request for impeachment was made due to the release of research that shows Senator Flávio Bolsonaro behind President Lula in the electoral dispute
AtlasIntel’s CEO, Andrei Roman, said in a press conference this Friday (22) that the company “there is nothing to fear” in relation to the Liberal Party’s (PL) challenge request against the company on Monday (18). “Honestly, we have nothing to fear, the solidity and robustness of Atlas’ methodology is confirmed by our trajectory in Brazil in consecutive electoral cycles”, stated Roman.
Due to the publication of research carried out by AtlasIntel that shows the Senator Flávio Bolsonaro (PL) behind President Lula (PT) in the electoral dispute.
Andrei Roman stated that the company has already gone through other electoral processes and emerged victorious in all. “This is not the first time that an Atlas survey has been challenged in electoral court. In several electoral cycles we respond to these actions and to this day I don’t remember an action that we were unable to win in the end”, he said.
When asked about the future of the elections, Roman spoke about Flávio’s drop in the polls being “clear”. It is clear that there is no immediate collapse of Flávio Bolsonaro but, at the same time, it also seems quite clear to me that it will be difficult for him can recover its image and electoral viability ahead.”
The CEO also commented on the difficulty of right-wing voters in finding someone to take Flávio Bolsonaro’s place in the polls and climbing to the presidency.
“Every day we are observing new elements of wear and tear in relation to what happened. It seems to me that there is a difficulty within the Bolsonarista electorate today in seeing an alternative to Flávio Bolsonaro because all the other candidates score at a much lower level and there is no obvious alternative to where this electorate could migrate”, declared.
Request for objection
The document maintains that, of the 48 questions in the questionnaire, at least eight ask the interviewee about Flávio’s involvement with Daniel Vorcaro and Banco Master. The text states that this structure “doesn’t measure opinion, produces context” and transforms research into “indirect means of negative propaganda”.
The PL cites scientific literature and jurisprudence from the TSE and TREs to argue that the order of questions changes results by up to 20 percentage points.
In addition to the immediate suspension of disclosure (with a daily fine in case of non-compliance), the party requires:
- Access to AtlasIntel control (anonymized microdata, application logs, complete audio file, sampling plan, etc.) within 24 hours;
- Fine for irregular research and, alternatively, for publishing fraudulent research, at a maximum level of R$ 106,410.00;
- Definitive prohibition on publishing the results of questions 9, 10, 11, 12 to 19, 22, 25 and 48, or, alternatively, mandatory clear reservations about methodological contamination;
- The PL argues that the survey “was not limited to measuring spontaneous public opinion, but acted directly to induce it artificially”, posing a risk of “inducing the electorate in two layers”: within the interview and before the public who will receive the results as neutral.
