Singer Dave Grohl, 57, revisited the Foo Fighters song catalog and revealed which composition embarrasses him the most.
During his appearance on the Hot Ones Versus program, alongside Chris Shiflett, Pat Smear, Rami Jaffee, Ilan Rubin and Nate Mendel, the vocalist admitted that he regrets some of his compositions.
On the show, guests have to choose between answering difficult questions or eating super-spicy chicken wings.
When asked about Foo Fighters’ most “cringe” song, Dave decided to answer: “I swear there are so many I hate. I was thinking about that song today in the shower. The song ‘DOA’.”
“’It’s a shame that we have to die, baby / Nobody’s going to get out of here alive,’” recalled one of the verses.
“What a stupid thing. I feel like this was one of those [músicas] that I wrote because you [integrantes da banda] they were [batendo na mesa] and they said, ‘Dave, sing anything, whatever!'”
Guitarist Chris Shiflett asked, “So it was our fault?”
“Yes, it was your fault. You led me to [compor] some of the worst music I’ve ever made in my life,” joked Dave.
The song “DOA” is part of “In Your Honor”, their fifth studio album, released in 2005.
Currently, the band is working on promoting their “Your Favorite Toy” and their world tour includes a visit to Brazil. The rockers will be the main attraction at Rock in Rio, on September 4th.
