- The police in Senec investigated an incident of alleged kidnapping reported only via the Internet.
- The mother described her daughter’s experience as an attempted kidnapping and posted it online.
- The police have not confirmed the plausibility of the claim and urge citizens to call 158 directly.
The officers of the District Directorate of the Police Force in Senec are engaged in clarifying the circumstances of the incident, which they learned about on social networks during Saturday (May 23). The woman published the alleged kidnapping of her daughter on a social network, but did not contact the police. TASR was informed about this by Silvia Šimková, spokeswoman of the Regional Directorate of the Police Force in Bratislava.
According to the information so far the driver of one of the taxi services had to deviate from the agreed route from Rovinka to Bratislava while driving with a client. On the way, he was supposed to get out of the vehicle and start communicating with a group of unknown people in a foreign language.
“His client, who was in the vehicle at the time, became convinced that she was in danger. She got out of the vehicle and left the scene. She should have confided this experience over the phone to her mother, who described the incident as an attempted kidnapping and posted it on social media instead of contacting the Police,” explained the police spokeswoman.
The Seneca district police learned about this incident only from the Internet. “Immediately after receiving this information, they began to examine her circumstances. However, their rigorous verification did not confirm the plausibility of the information published on social networks,” said Šimková.
The police advise the public to contact the police immediately on the toll-free number 158 in such casesor in person at any police department and officially reported the incident, instead of posting in community groups on social networks.
