São Paulo and Botafogo were tied 1-1 this Saturday (23), at Morumbis, in a match valid for the 17th round of the Brasileirão.
Luciano, just four minutes into the game, opened the scoring in favor of the home team. Later, in the final stretch of the second stage, Jordan Barrera scored the great goal and left everything the same in the capital of São Paulo.
Now, the team has reached the mark of eight matches without a win this season. The last triumph of coach Dorival Júnior’s team took place on April 25th, against Mirassol, valid for the 13th round of the .
The result kept São Paulo in fourth place in the national league, with 25 points achieved. The club returns to the pitch next Tuesday (26), at 7pm (Brasília time), to face Boston River, in the Copa Sudamericana.
Botafogo reached 22 points and rose to ninth place overall. The Cariocas enter the field on Wednesday (27), at the same time, when they visit Caracas, also in the South American Championship.

After four minutes, São Paulo took the lead in the confrontation. Winger Artur took a risk from outside the area, goalkeeper Neto hit the ball and striker Luciano took advantage of the rebound to find the net.
Botafogo started to be in danger at the 35-minute mark, when full-back Vitinho crossed into the area and the ball passed close to the Tricolor goal. Soon after, Calleri took advantage of a surplus in the area and almost extended it in favor of the home team.
On the way back from the break, Glorioso scored with center forward Arthur Cabral, in the 10th minute, but the move ended up being canceled due to offside. The visiting team was again in danger at 18, with a shot from young Kadir Barría that was saved by goalkeeper Rafael.
São Paulo reacted on the field at the 20-minute mark, when midfielder Pedro Ferreira stepped up and stopped in a great save from Neto. Then, Vitinho scored for Botafogo, but again the goal was disallowed for offside.
After much insistence, the black and white team reached a draw in the final stretch of the match. After the ball was barely cleared by Rafael, midfielder Jordan Barrera hit a beautiful finish from outside the area and sealed the result at 1-1.
