Dupla with Brazilian and Cuban re-records music “I Dream of Snakes” and video allows us to see how Havana is deteriorated
Composers and musicians Chico Buarque, 81 years old, and Silvio Rodríguez, 79 years old, released a video in which they appear together performing the song “I dream about snakes” (Dream about Snakes). The recording was made on April 8 and 9, 2026, at Ojalá Studios, in Havana, capital of Cuba. The images allow you to see old buildings, without maintenance and almost in ruins, old cars and how the Cuban capital is deteriorated.

Chico Buarque is a sympathizer of the Caribbean island and defends the Castro regime, installed when Fidel Castro (1926-2016) came to power in 1959. Today the country is led by Miguel Díaz-Canel, 66. The income obtained from the project, according to Rodríguez’s YouTube page, will be donated by the 2 musicians to the pediatric wing of the National Cancer Institute of Cuba.
