Pre-candidate for President said that the donation from the father of the owner of the Master to his party, in 2022, did not involve a “counter-proposal”
The former governor of Minas Gerais and pre-candidate for President, (New), said, this Monday (May 25, 2026), that the by Henrique Vorcaro, father of the founder of Banco Master, Daniel Vorcaro, was made “without any counter-proposal from the party”.
Zema said the donation was made at a time when the Banco Master scandal was not public knowledge. The statement was made during a conversation with journalists at the “The Brazil We Want” event, held by Amcham Brasil (American Chamber of Commerce for Brazil), in São Paulo.
“I think they donated to all parties because they thought maybe they could buy the New one like they bought the other one. But they didn’t buy it, no. They donated because they wanted, they contributed to a serious party“, said Zema. The former governor did not specify what he was referring to by “the other”.
Henrique Vorcaro’s donation to Novo took place in the 2022 elections. In a statement, the party stated that “jFurthermore, he hid the origin of his donations, nor does he condition his political activities to the interests of the thousands of donors who voluntarily contribute to the party.”.
FLAVIO AND ZEMA
Zema has publicly criticized the relationship between the senator and the presidential candidate, (PL-RJ), and Daniel Vorcaro to finance the film “Dark Horse”, about (PL).
This Monday (May 25), Zema said it was very worrying for someone to have a close relationship with Vorcaro, who he called “the biggest criminal in the financial system in the history of Brazil and probably one of the biggest in the world”.
In the leaked messages published by Intercept BrasilFlávio calls Vorcaro “brother“. The senator later denied having intimacy with the founder of Master and who used the term because it is common in the evangelical milieu, of which he is a part.
Zema assessed that Flávio’s situation with Vorcaro will cause difficulties for the entire right in the electoral campaign. “If 2022 was already difficult for the right, [com] this scandal is now much more”.
