Corinthians and Talleres reach agreement to pay Garro’s debt

Corinthians and Talleres reached an agreement to pay the debt for hiring Rodrigo Garro. The Parque São Jorge club will pay around 7 million dollars (around R$35 million) for the signing made in January 2024.

The contract will be signed this Tuesday (26), while payment must be made by Saturday (30), as reported by people present at the negotiation. This will avoid a new transfer ban.

It is worth remembering that he is prevented from registering players due to the non-payment of debt by José Martínez, with the Philadelphia Union, from the United States.

What influenced the change in Talleres’ stance in relation to the amount owed was how Osmar Stabile and the black and white board of directors treated the debt, as the CNN.

The president of Corinthians went to Argentina to meet Andrés Fassi, president of The Tto find solutions about the amount owed.

Furthermore, both boards had to give in for the agreement to be closed. Talleres, for example, has already thought about receiving the entire amount in cash, while Corinthians has always wanted to pay the amount in installments.

Rodrigo Garro arrived at Corinthians in 2024 and, with the club, won three titles: the Campeonato Paulista and the Copa do Brasil, in 2025, and the Supercopa do Brasil, in 2026.
