The Prime Minister of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu, stated this Monday, 25, that he ordered an increase in military pressure on Lebanon and promised to intensify attacks against Hezbollah, amid the escalation of tensions on the Israeli northern border. “We will increase the volume of our attacks against Hezbollah and we will not stop,” he declared, according to information released by Al Jazeera.
According to Netanyahu, Israel also created a special team to face the threat of automatic drones used by the Lebanese group.
The prime minister also stated that the country is “at war with Hezbollah” and said that around 600 members of the movement had been killed in recent weeks.
The rhetoric was reinforced by an Israeli official heard by Israel’s Channel 12, according to whom “containment is over” and the government has decided to carry out “a major attack against Hezbollah”.
In parallel, Israeli attacks hit different regions of southern and eastern Lebanon. According to the Al Jazeeratwo offensives were recorded in the city of Nabatieh and the village of Rashkaniya, in southern Lebanon. A correspondent for the broadcaster reported that two Israeli strikes hit the village of Mashghara, in the West Bekaa Valley, in the east of the country.
