The prosecutor Begoña García Boró gave him a boost of oxygen this Thursday, on the first day of the trial for the alleged irregularities in the awarding of a position to him in the Badajoz Provincial Council. In his intervention to respond to the previous questions raised by the defense of Pedro Sánchez’s relative and the other 10 people who sit in the dock, among them the former leader of the Extremaduran PSOE Miguel Ángel Gallardo, García Boró has considered that part of the accusations against David Sánchez – and – have expired, in line with what was raised by his defense. Specifically, the president’s brother faces a three-year prison sentence for the crimes of influence peddling in a media competition with another of administrative prevarication and one of acceptance of an illegal appointment. It would be the latter that the Prosecutor’s Office – which, on the other hand, requests acquittal for all – has asked to withdraw.
